Prohibiting Additional Occupants During Driving/Delivery Services

Workers providing driving/delivery services through WorkWhile must adhere to this policy regarding unauthorized occupants in their vehicles.

For Workers Providing Driving/Delivery Services:

While actively engaged in a Driving/Delivery service initiated via the WorkWhile platform, workers are strictly prohibited from having any additional occupants in their vehicle who are not explicitly part of the confirmed WorkWhile shift.

"Additional occupants" include, but are not limited to, friends, family members, pets (unless specifically authorized as a service animal for the client, and noted in the request), or any other individuals not directly associated with the WorkWhile service request.

This prohibition applies from the moment a worker accepts a Driving/Delivery request until the completion of that request, including transit to the pickup location, the actual transport of the client, and the immediate conclusion of the drop-off.

Rationale:

This policy is in place for the following critical reasons:

  • Worker Safety and Security: The presence of unauthorized occupants in a worker's vehicle can introduce unforeseen risks and distractions, potentially compromising the worker's safety and ability to focus solely on the task at hand and the safety of the WorkWhile client. Our priority is to ensure a secure working environment for our workers.

  • Client Contractual Agreements and Expectations: Many of our clients have specific contractual agreements with WorkWhile that dictate the nature and security of the Driving/Delivery services provided. These agreements often imply or explicitly require that only authorized personnel are present during the service. The presence of additional occupants violates these agreements and undermines the professional trust our clients place in WorkWhile. Clients expect a dedicated and uncompromised service experience.

  • Professionalism and Service Integrity: Having unauthorized individuals in the vehicle during a WorkWhile service detracts from the professional image and dedicated service that WorkWhile aims to provide. It can lead to an uncomfortable or unprofessional experience for the client and dilute the quality of the service.

  • Liability and Insurance: Our insurance coverage and liability framework are based on the premise that WorkWhile services are provided solely by the authorized worker to the designated client. The presence of additional occupants could complicate insurance claims and create significant liability issues that are not covered by WorkWhile's policies.

Consequences of Non-Compliance:

Violation of this policy is considered a serious breach of WorkWhile's terms of service and may result in the following actions, at the sole discretion of WorkWhile:

  • Immediate suspension of access to the WorkWhile platform.

  • Permanent deactivation of the worker's account.

  • Reporting to relevant authorities if illegal or unsafe activities are involved.

Commitment to Professionalism:

Adherence to this policy is essential for maintaining the high standards of service our clients expect and for safeguarding the well-being of our entire community.

By providing Driving/Delivery services through the WorkWhile platform, you agree to adhere to this Policy on Prohibiting Additional Occupants During Driving/Delivery Services. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring safety and professionalism.

WorkWhile reserves the right to modify this policy at any time.
