You'll enjoy a range of unique benefits and policies to support you as a W-2 worker on WorkWhile. Here's a snapshot of what we provide:

Medical/Dental/Vision: We provide comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage to eligible full-time employees via an ICHRA—ensuring access to quality healthcare services.

Sick Time Accrual: Our sick time accrual policy allows you to accumulate sick leave to use for personal illness or medical appointments. You will accrue 1 hour of sick time for every 30 hours of W-2 work completed. You can always see your accrued sick time on your paystubs. If you are not able to make it to a scheduled shift due to illness, you can submit a request for sick time payout by contacting Support through the WorkWhile app.

Retirement Savings for CA & CO Employees: If you're a California or Colorado employee, you have the opportunity to participate in our retirement savings program, helping you save for a secure financial future.

Workers' Compensation: We have workers' compensation coverage in place to provide protection and support to you in the event of work-related injuries or illnesses.

Pay Schedule: Payment for each 1099 shift you work will be processed 24 hours after the scheduled end time of the shift. Pending payments for completed shifts will be listed on the Pay History section and will include an estimate of when each payment will be processed.

Payment for W-2 shifts are paid differently from 1099 shifts. Payments for W2 shifts are processed every weekday (Monday-Friday) and deposited into your account within 24 hours of shift approval or weekly on Monday and direct deposited into your account by EOD Wednesday.

*Qualified W-2 workers can choose between a daily (Monday-Friday) or weekly payroll period. Upon your first W-2 shift, you may be prompted with the option to select your payment period. You can also access and update your selection within the Me section of the App. Unfortunately daily payroll is not currently available for workers with garnishments.

Federal & State Leave of Absences: We comply with all federal and state laws regarding leave of absence, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and California Family Rights Act (CFRA), to support you in times of personal or family medical needs.

Simpler Taxes: As a W-2 employee, taxes will be automatically deducted from each paycheck—taking away the stress from next year’s tax season.

Meal and Rest Breaks: We adhere to applicable labor laws and provide you with designated meal and rest breaks to ensure you have the opportunity to recharge and maintain your well-being.

Potential OT Opportunities: In certain situations, you may have the opportunity for overtime (OT) or even double-time (DT) work, allowing you to earn additional compensation.

Flexible Schedule: The defining characteristic of the WorkWhile app is the flexibility to choose your shifts on your schedule. You'll be able to choose when, where, and how you work like you always have.

Work Both 1099 and W-2 Shifts: Same great app experience with new options! You can accept both types of shifts if you're onboarded for W-2 and 1099. You can work as many or as few shifts as you’d like, and you can choose 1099 and W- 2 interchangeably through the app. Accepting shifts, clocking in & out, and other functions of the app will stay the same.
