Service Workers LLC COVID-19 Prevention Policy

Updated: August 26, 2024

Responsibility

Service Workers LLC is committed to following applicable law, including applicable State of California orders and guidance regarding COVID-19 hazards. All employees are responsible for using safe work practices, following all policies and procedures, and assisting in maintaining a safe work environment, and all managers and supervisors are responsible for implementing workplace policy, and for providing employees answers to questions about the policies.

What happens if there is a COVID-19 case in the workplace?

If we learn of a COVID-19 illness in the workplace, we will investigate the circumstances of the exposure in the workplace and appropriately document the findings. If employees feel ill, including experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, employees will be encouraged to stay home, and to report their symptoms.

If we learn that there’s a COVID-19 case at the workplace, the following steps will be taken:

  1. COVID-19 cases who do not develop symptoms will not return to work during the infectious period.

  2. COVID-19 cases who develop symptoms will not return to work during the shorter of:

    1. The infectious period, or

    2. Through 10 days after the onset of symptoms and at least 24 hours have passed since a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher has resolved without fever-reducing medication.

  3. All COVID-19 cases must wear a face covering in the workplace until 10 days have passed since the date that COVID-19 symptoms began or, if the person did not have COVID-19 symptoms, from the date of their first positive COVID-19 test.

  1. If local or state orders differ from the above, we will follow those order(s).

  2. If removal of an employee would create undue risk to a community we may submit a request for a waiver to Cal/OSHA in writing to allow employees to return to work if it does not violate local or state health official orders for isolation, quarantine, or exclusion.

  3. Employees excluded from the workplace for COVID-19 or a close contact will receive information about applicable benefits available.

Testing

COVID-19 tests are available at no cost, during paid time, to all our employees who had a close contact in the workplace.

Notice of COVID-19 Cases

Employees who had a close contact will be notified as soon as possible, and in no case longer than the time required to ensure that the exclusion requirements above are met.

Face Coverings

There is not currently a general requirement to use a face covering. Employees will be provided face coverings and will be required to wear them:

  • If required by orders from the CDPH.

  • During outbreaks and major outbreaks.

  • If employees return to work after having COVID-19 until 10 days have passed since the date symptoms began or, if the person did not have COVID-19 symptoms, from the date of their first positive COVID-19 test.

Face coverings will be clean, undamaged, and worn over the nose and mouth. If face coverings are required, Service Workers LLC will follow the exceptions provided by the regulations, including allowing no face coverings if an employee is working alone, eating or drinking, performing tasks that cannot be done with a face covering, or cannot wear a face covering due to a mental health, medical, or other condition or disability.

Respirators

You may request a respirator for voluntary use, provided that use of same does not create a safety hazard at the worksite.
