What does our Occupational Accident Insurance policy cover?

All jobs performed through WorkWhile require coverage by Occupational Accident Insurance. This insurance covers medical expenses, lost compensation, and benefits related to accidental injuries that occur during the course of an accepted job through WorkWhile. A Trust & Safety fee (except for California Workers) will be deducted from earnings to cover OAI.

Occupational Accident is a standard insurance product used by contractors across the United States that provides occupational accident benefits to independent contractors similar to how Workers’ Compensation would protect an employee due to an accident on the job.

Independent contractors are responsible for reporting any incidents and submitting claims at time of an accident or within 5 days of the incident taking place.

If you are an independent contractor and were injured while performing services through the WorkWhile platform, you will find key information on how to file a claim with our Occupational Accident Provider, Zurich.

What to do if you experience an injury while performing services?

  • Seek medical attention immediately

  • Let the medical provider know you have Occupational Accident coverage & provide contact information for Intact Insurance Company

  • You can report your claim in one of two ways:

  1. Online at www.zurichna.com/claims
    i. Once you open the Zurichna.com/claims site - you will see a drop down “I’d like to...”
    ii. (Select a category)-choose- “Report a Claim.”
    iii. (Select an option)-choose- “Occupational Accident.”
    iv. Hit GO and proceed to filing the claim.
    v. The system will walk you through required information and give options to call Zurich claims as well.

  2. Via phone at 866-280-4394.
    i. You will be connected to the IC claims department.

Policy Numbers to Provide when submitting a claim:

  • Occupational Accident Insurance Policy (California Delivery ONLY): 5941807-00

  • Occupational Accident Insurance Policy (All other incidents): 5941806-00

What to do if you experience an injury while performing services?

  • Seek medical attention immediately

  • Let the medical provider know you have Occupational Accident coverage & provide contact information for Intact Insurance Company

  • Report your claim directly to Intact Insurance by calling (866) 568 - 2233 or by following the links below:

If the incident took place during a delivery driver shifts, the policy number is 216-003-113

For all other shifts, the policy number is 216-003-111

Information to provide with your claim

  • Policy Number

  • Details of accident time, location, description

  • Types of injury incurred

  • Healthcare provider information if applicable

  • List of current physicians

  • Witnesses or other applicable information
